New Features

- Answer AI Assistant questions in your own words: When the AI Assistant pauses to ask a question while generating a course, you can now type a free-text answer instead of only picking from the suggested options.

- AI chat assistant can now search your uploaded source documents: The AI chat assistant can look up and reference documents you've uploaded, grounding edits with citations to the file and page.

- Icons and automatic stock photos for callouts and layout cards: Attach an icon to callout blocks and layout cells (steps, tabs, accordion, grid, ring) from a curated set. AI-generated lessons also include matching icons automatically, and image blocks without a matching source image fall back to a fitting stock photo.

Bug Fixes

- Fixed AI-generated cards sometimes appearing blank: Quiz, chart, carousel, flip-card, and other interactive cards created by the AI chat assistant could occasionally end up silently blank due to malformed content. These are now validated and repaired before saving.

- Fixed a rare issue that could briefly take the whole app offline: Closing a tab or navigating away mid-load could crash the server itself, briefly taking the entire app down for everyone. The app now handles these cancellations safely.

- Fixed lessons getting stuck retrying instead of showing a clear error: Lessons created without any assigned source pages would silently retry generation several times before failing. They're now flagged with a clear error right away.

- Fixed being able to skip past a learning outcome error when creating a course: Entering a learning outcome longer than 500 characters let you advance to the next step even though it was invalid, causing generation to silently fail later. The error is now caught before you can move on.

- Fixed course generation crashing for some lessons: Generating a slide-based lesson with no assigned sources could crash the whole job. This is now handled gracefully.

- Fixed incorrect card counts for slide-based lessons: Lessons created from slides sometimes showed a card count in the outline that didn't match the number of slides actually generated.

- Fixed true/false questions showing raw text instead of a question: Asking the AI editor to add a true/false interaction could show raw text instead of the actual question.

- Fixed duplicate AI writing requests in the lesson editor: Continue Writing, Summarize, Extend, and Rephrase could fire the same generation request repeatedly. Each action now only fires once.

- Fixed lesson pages freezing when moving between lessons: Learners could experience the page freezing for several seconds when moving to the next lesson in a course with no quiz.

- Fixed alignment and overflow issues in ranking questions: Fixed misaligned numbering and text overflow when answers were long in ranking and sorting interactions.

- Fixed multiple mobile layout issues across the app: Fixed overflowing buttons on the sources step, a header that didn't wrap on the outline step, and an unreachable Next button on the tone-of-voice step. Also added a notice that mobile support is still being improved.

- Fixed mobile disclaimer notice not clearing: The mobile editing notice now clears when you navigate away, and only appears where mobile editing genuinely doesn't work well yet.

- Fixed missing page selector for PowerPoint sources: The page range selector for choosing which pages a lesson uses now appears for PowerPoint sources as well as PDFs.

- Fixed 'must be an admin' error when moving courses: Admins who belong to more than 10 organizations could be incorrectly blocked from moving a course out of an organization.

Improvements

- Unified and improved the color picker across the editor: Replaced several inconsistent color-picking experiences with one consistent picker throughout the app, including an eyedropper tool and an opacity control for background colors.

- Smoother full-screen course view on mobile: Course lessons on mobile now scroll edge-to-edge as a full-screen experience, letting the browser's address bar collapse for more viewing space.
